SHOPIAN, JUNE 30: - District
Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz convened a meeting of district
and sectoral officers here today to review the targets of projects under
various programmes like Annual Plan, Public Awareness Camps, Training
Programme, Skill Development Programme, Capacity Building Programme.
The DDC
was informed about the progress made under these schemes and programs. He also
reviewed the initiatives taken for improving skill development and capacity
building of the beneficiaries under various flagship schemes and programmes.
The DDC
reviewed the existing schemes under Public Health, Irrigation, Flood Control,
Mughal Road, Mechanical Irrigation, Power Development Department and STD
sectors and stressed the officers to organize training in the rural areas for
motivating people living in far-flung area to take the benefits of various
schemes and programme.
The DDC said a comprehensive plan
would be devised involving different departments for skill development under
various schemes to create employment avenues for the unemployed youth in an
integrated manner.
The DDC
stressed on ensuring 100 percent utilization of funds besides implementation of
all the decisions taken in the DDB meetings. He directed the concerned officers
to complete the on-going projects within stipulated timeframe while ensuring
quality on the ground.
Among
others, Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineers and Executive
Engineers from PHE, I&FC, Mughal Road, Mechanical Irrigation, PDD, STD and
other officers of the district were present in the meeting.
