JUNE 07: Director
General Prisons, Mr. S.K. Mishra (IPS) today discussed various programmes for
skill development at a multi-agency meeting here.
Various suggestions were put forth by the stakeholders for
imparting skill development training to the inmates and how to psychologically
counsel and de-stress the inmates to change their attitude for the welfare and
betterment of the society.
It was discussed that skill training
in different trades like electrician, plumber, computer sciences, cutting and
tailoring be imparted to the qualified persons. It was also discussed that
cultural programmes, debates, seminar and counseling be for the inmates.
The DG Prisons stressed on the
concerted efforts for the welfare of the inmates involving all stake holders.
Representatives of education, social
welfare, information, technical education, and medical education also attended
the meeting.
