KUPWARA, JUNE 12: The District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) today held a meeting
under the chairmanship of District Development commissioner, Kupwara.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on the matters
related to development of the border and far-flung areas of the district.
Joint Director Planning briefed the meeting about the status of various
developmental works carried out by the different executing agencies under the
Border Area Development Programme (BADP) implementation.
It was given out that Rs. 1190.05 lakh were released during the last
fiscal year off which Rs. 975.39 lakh were utilized under BADP while 103 works
out of 158 targeted works were finalized.
It was given out that Rs.1017.01 lakh have been proposed under Annual
Plan 2017.18 under BADP. It was also informed in the meeting that 306 works
have been carried out under different sectors during 2017-15.
On the occasion, the meeting was informed the Government of India has
approved Rs. 204.60 crore for development of 11 existing villages as Model
villages. It was given out that Gabra Hajltera, Keran and Michel villages on
LOC are being developed as model villages with all basic amenities.
The Chairman, District Level Consultative Committee impressed upon the
executing agencies to submit their requirements, demands and DPRs upto 15th of this
month for discussion besides the funds released for the projects be utilized
judiciously and the works should be carried out as per the guide lines of the
BADP.
