administration for strict compliance of protocol
SRINAGAR, JUNE 08 – ‘The
Institution of Public Representative should be extended due regard and courtesy
as per protocol, especially during their visit to Government offices for
discussing any public related issues.’
This was observed by the Privileges Committee of Jammu &
Kashmir Legislative Council during their introductory meeting held under the
chairmanship of MLA Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, here today.
Legislators Usman Abdul Majid, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Javed Hussan
Baig and Dina Nath Bhagat besides senior officers and officials of council
secretariat were present in the meeting
Taking strict notice in matter of breach of privileges of the
Legislators, the committee observed that the legislators are elected
representatives and voice of the public; disregarding them is akin to
disrespecting the democratic setup of the nation.
The committee instructed the offices of civil and police
administration to follow the due procedure and protocol while dealing with the
concerns with the Legislators.
Further the committee instructed all concerned departments to
submit Action Taken Reports to the committee detailing progress made on
