REASI, JUNE 26: Minister of State for Finance
and Planning, Ajay Nanda today said that Government is committed to provide
improved infrastructural facilities to the people in every nook and corner of
the State with special emphasis on power supply, road connectivity, education,
drinking water, health and alike essential services .
Addressing a large gathering of people after dedicating 100 KVA
transformer at village Aghar Balian in ward No 3, which was provided under CDF
programme, the Minister said that during the past two years the Government has been paying
focused attention to mitigate the problems of the
people, especially in the rural and far-flung areas. The Government has framed
a well-tailored development programme to upgrade the existing infrastructural
facili5ies as per the needs of the locals. He urged the people to come forward
in availing the benefits of various government programmes like Deendayal
Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, PM Bima Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, PM Ujwala
Yojana, Beti Bachao- Beti Padao, IAY, which are aimed at to improve the living
conditions of rural masses, he added.
On the power scenario, the Minister said all steps are being taken up to
regulate power supply, especially during peak seasons when there is intensive
load over the existing power infrastructure. He appealed the people to
shift towards LED bulbs instead of traditional bulbs to save energy.
On the occasion, the people raised several issues including land
compensation, blacktopping of link road towards Devsthan, construction of
bathing ghat, proper drainage system in the areas and installation of street
lights along Reasi -Agharballian road.
While responding to the demands, the Minister assured the people that
tiling work on Bhimdev link road would be started soon besides construction of
bathrooms simultaneously. He said the work of drains along roads would also be
started at the earliest.
Enlisting some major developmental proposals in the areas, the Minister
said apart from district hospital, degree college and polytechnic college, two
stadiums are being constructed at village Agharballian soon.
Officers of PDD and prominent local leaders were also present on the occasion.
