SRINAGAR, JUNE 9: A delegation of National
Conference (NC) led by Sh. Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister, met Governor
N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today. The delegation comprised Sh. Ali
Mohammad Sagar, MLA; Sh. Mohd. Shafi Uri, MLA; Sh. Mohd. Akbar Lone, MLA; Sh.
Devender Singh Rana, MLA; Sh. Nasir Sogami, Provincial President, NC; Sh.
Choudhary Ramzan, former MLA; and Sh. Shami Oberoi.
The delegation apprised the Governor about their concerns relating to
the proposed Goods and Services Tax (GST) legislation which is to be discussed
in the J&K Legislature Session beginning on 17th June
2017.They requested the Governor to advise the State Government to call an All
Party Meeting to have an extensive discussion on various aspects of the GST
regime, to allay the fears and concerns of the various stakeholders and put the
entire concept in public domain for an open debate.
Governor
assured the delegation that their concerns would be taken up with the Chief
Minister.
