Jammu 23 June: The Chamber President was invited by the Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh to his residence this morning and the Chamber President Sh. Rakesh Gupta alongwith the Office Bearers namely Sh. Rajesh Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Sh. Manish Gupta, Secretary General and Sh. Gaurav Gupta, Secretary met the Dy. Chief Minister on the implementation of GST w.e.f July 1,2017 The Jammu Chamber team clearly conveyed to the Dy. Chief Minister that GST was a matter of economy and commerce and we shall not allowed any politician to play with our bread and butter and Chamber advises all the political parties to act positively for the overall growth of the country and our state. Dy. Chief Minister assured Chamber President that the government is serious on the implementation of GST and needful shall be done at the earliest. The Chamber President further said that the Chamber shall not allow any politician whether in ruling coalition or in the opposition to play politics on the GST or else Chamber shall not spare such politicians who are openly working against the state and the country. Chamber also conveyed that non implementation of GST shall mean total collapse of trade and industry and if the needful is not done urgently and immediately, the Chamber is ready for an agitation for which the state government shall solely be responsible. Chamber team also said that implementation of GST was in everybody’s interests, whether Trade, Industry or common man and GST is just a reform in taxation system replacing terminology and integrating different taxes under one head and shall also benefit our state to earn huge revenue as we are a consuming state.
