Jammu 23 June : Protest of Academic Arrangements Association of Polytechnic colleges of J&K entered 17th consecutive day in Exhibition ground Jammu. Whereas peaceful sit in protest of Academic Arrangements of Kashmir Division continued today also. Class work of all Polytechnics remained suspended since last 17 days. Academic Arrangements are demanding regularization policy for them as they are working since last more than 10-15years without any break.

Seeking regularization of the lecturers and demonstrators engaged on Academic Arrangements in the Technical Education, Atul Sudan addressing the media said that reportedly 80-85% of the staff in 24 polytechnics all across the state comprised of Academic Arrangements who were running the department successfully with laudable results. He further divulged that the state government had admitted in recent Assembly session that 328 sanctioned vacant posts of lecturers and demonstrators and the incumbents working as Academic Arrangements were engaged against these clear vacancies and they are less than 225. He said that there is no financial implication on these posts if all these are regularized or absorbed one time.

Ankush Gupta Vice President AJKPAAA said that a delegation of A/A of both divisions of jammu and kashmir led by atul sudan (president ajkpaa jammu) and shahnwaz qadir (president ajkpaa kashmir) met Cabinet minister technical Education Imran raza ansari in kashmir secretariat. They were accompanied by 50+ academic staff members from all over jk. The minister gave them patient hearing and directed officials to re-engage the terminated academic staff from all polytechnics. He further directed Anil Sharma(officer on Special Duty) to do the needfull for academic arrangements of polytechnics and assure them that their demand of permanent absorbtion will be addressed soon.

Association members welcomed the steps taken by Minister and officer on special duty And thanked them for their positive response and steps for the welfare of Academjc arrangements. Futher they said that they appreciate the process intitated by the department but they will keep their peacefull sit in protests continue as they were assured similarly earlier also but nothing was done. They said they will continue their peaceful sit in protests till they are absorbed or regularized permanently.
