SHOPIAN, JUNE 15: A deputation of senior citizens from tehsil
Zainapora called on District Development Commissioner Shopian Mohammad Aijaz
today at Mini Secretariat here and held detailed interaction on developmental
and other issues of public concern.
The
interaction was part of reach out programme to establish a direct contact with
the citizens to improve public service delivery.
A
holistic view of the development scenario in the Tehsil was presented by the
deputation and a range of issues concerning public interest was brought to the
notice of the DDC.
The
deputationists said that despite being just 19 kms away from the district
headquarters, the Tehsil Zainapora lags behind on various developmental fronts
like road connectivity, healthcare, infrastructure for government offices,
drainage, irrigation facilities, power and water supply.
They demanded
immediate black-topping of Shopian Bijbehara road, internal and link roads,
construction of flood protection bunds along the banks of Rambiara River, the
revival of important irrigation canals and drought pumps, proper market
checking and fixing of prices of Goods and LPG besides expediting the
construction of PHC Zainapora.
On the
occasion, the DDC gave a patient hearing to the senior citizen deputation and
assured that the issues raised would be taken up with concerned Departments for
their time-bound redress.
He
directed the concerned Tehsildar to ensure that Aadhar Centre remains open on
all working days at the Tehsil.
The
called upon the unemployed youth of the tehsil to come forward, avail the
benefits of various self-employment schemes and contribute towards the
development of the tehsil and the whole district as well. He also expressed his
desire to see the youth of the district excelling in various competitive exams
and offered all sort of help for such endeavors from the district
administration.
