Preparations for special voter enrollment drive reviewed in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 15:  The Additional District Development Commissioner, Anantnag today chaired a meeting to review preparations being put in place for smooth conduct of special voter enrollment drive commencing from July 1 to July 31 in the district.

The meeting was attended by the SDMs of Pahalgam, Dooru and Kokernag, Tehsildars, Chief Education Officer, EROs, AEROs and representatives of the political parties.

During the meeting, the ADDC directed all the EROs and AEROs to ensure the enrolment of the newly eligible voters so that they can participate in the democratic process and exercise their franchise.     

He directed the Chief Education Officer to undertake SVEEP campaigns in all the educational institutions and ITIs as to educate the youth about the value and importance of the vote.

           The SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to sensitize the BLOs to undertake door-to-door campaigns for registering new eligible voters. They were also asked to undertake the verification process of the electoral rolls so as to make it more transparent.

           On the occasion, representatives of the political parties assured their full support and cooperation to the administration in ensuring the participation for smooth and hassle free conduct of the drive
