Special enrolment drive from July 1

DODA, JUNE 20: A special enrolment drive to enroll left out electors with focus on first time electors in the age group of 18-21 years w.r.t 01-01-2017 as the qualifying date shall be conducted fromJuly 1 to July 31, 2017.

In this regard, a meeting was convened here today under the chairmanship ship of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Tariq Hussain Naik, which was attended by ACD Akhtar Qazi, CMO Wajid Ali Najar, Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali Natnoo, Nodal officer SVEEP, Muneeb Umar besides other district officers of various departments.

During the meeting, the officers were asked to raise awareness among the people about the process of electoral purification and special enrolment drive which is going to start on July 1 through camps, seminars and other modes of communication.

CEO and principals of various colleges were asked to inform the students about the process as the focus is on citizens in young age group from 18-21 years. Besides, the social welfare and health department was asked to involve grass root level workers like ASHA for educating the people in the villages about the subject.

Meanwhile, the ACR directed ARTO to install SVEEP pamphlets and posters on all the commercial vehicles. Similarly, other departments were instructed to organise awareness camps at various places during the whole month to encourage people for enrolment process.

Layer, all the departments were directed to submit their action taken report and a list of proposed events to election cell Doda for further planning.
