UDHAMPUR, JUNE 20: A team of Legal Metrology
Department, Udhampur led by Assistant Controller, Anita Sharma conducted
surprise market inspection here this morning.
During the inspection, various commercial establishments including
Kiryana shops, Fruit/Vegetable stalls, Hardware stores, Gold smith shops, Gas
Agencies and Petrol pumps were inspected by the team. Sixteen traders were
booked on-spot and a fine of Rs.23000 was realized from the defaulters.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Controller appealed the
consumers to remain vigilant and check rates, date of packing and complete
address of the manufacturer during shopping. She also directed the traders not
to indulge in any unfair trade practice.
