Launches campaign to boost tourism influx
SRINAGAR, JUNE 16: The Secretary Tourism and
Floriculture Farooq Ahmad Shah today launched campaign to boost tourist influx,
particularly MICE, Golf and religious tourism across the state.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary said that to increase tourist
influx to the state Travel trade is in process to organize press interaction
and specific meetings with the Travel trade of Delhi and Mumbai Maharashtra.
The secretary said that customized packages will be made for promoting
MICE and Golf tourism and also the spiritual tourism of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the Department is taking certain concrete measure to
attract people of different faiths as the state has huge potential of Sufi
circuits, temples, shrines, Gurdawaras and pilgrimage venues like Mata Vaishno
Devi and Amarnath Yatra.
The Secretary also urged media fraternity to stop unnecessary projecting
Jammu and Kashmir in negative way. He said that Golfing events will soon held
in Srinagar and Pahalgam.
The meeting was also attended by Manager Marketing SKICC and officials
of J&K Tourism Department and JKTDC.
