BARAMULLA, JUNE 24: District Development Commissioner Baramulla,
Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash today convened a meeting of officers to discuss the
issues related to the development of village Wagoora which has been adopted by
Member Parliament, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
The meeting was attended by SE PHE, JD Planning, ACD, CMO, Exn.
R&B, PDD DSWO, Project Officer ICDS, various other officers of
concerned departments and Aganwari workers of the village.
The ACD informed the meeting about the requirements and format for preparation
of village development plan, which includes area of work, sectors to be
undertaken, schemes/strategies to be availed, and responsibilities of line
department agencies, budget timeline and priorities to be fixed for timely
completion of works under this Yojana.
Outlining the objectives of this Yojana, DDC said that it aims to develop model
villages, called Adarsh Grams through the implementation of existing schemes
like PMGSY, IAY, MGNREGA, MPLADs, Centre and State FC, CSR and certain new
initiatives to be designed for the local context besides, creating models of
local development which can be replicated in other villages.
The DDC also reviewed the successful adoption of village Kaliban under SAGY and
appreciated the efforts of all concerned.
Pertinent to mention here that SAGY is a rural development programme focusing
on the development in the villages which includes social development, cultural
development and spread motivation among people on the social mobilization of
the village community. The programme was launched by the Prime Minister,
Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of late Jai Prakash Narayan on 11
October, 2014.
