Srinagar, Jul 14 : Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

A police spokesperson said here today that during a routine naka checking at Wanigam in Baramulla, police intercepted a vehicle. During checking, police recovered two-and-a-half kg of poppy straw.

Two persons, identified as Umer Ali Dar and Ishfaq Ahmad Kaboo, on board the vehicle were immediately taken into custody, he said.

Police has registered a case and initiated investigation to nab other people involved in the drug trafficking, he added.
