| Discusses issues concerning media in JK |
NEW DELHI, JULY 12: Minister for Horticulture, Syed
Basharat Ahmed Bukhari called on the Union Minister for Information and
Broadcasting, Mr Venkaiah Naidu here today to discuss issues concerning the
media in Jammu and Kashmir.
Highlighting the importance of
media, Mr Bukhari said it is important for media especially national
electronic media to showcase Jammu and Kashmir in positive way so that tourists
and pilgrims from the country visit the Valley without any hesitation. He said
this has become imperative especially in the aftermath of the tragic attack on
Amarnath Yatris. He said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir stood united in
condemning this gruesome attack and reached out to the victims in the hour of
need.
He also discussed the media scene
in the State and also dwelt in detail on the initiatives being taken by J&K
Government for the welfare of the media fraternity in the State.
