REASI, JULY 12: Minister
of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda, today kick started the works of
a road project from Sirla to Kalara in Reasi to be completed at an estimated
cost of Rs 2.88 crores.
Later while addressing people at
village Sirla the Minister reiterated the commitment of the Government to
provide improved amenities to people, and said that a comprehensive plan is
underway to expand road networks under PMGSY, PWD and RDD in the state with
special focus on far-flung and hilly areas. He said for all such roads
funds have been sanctioned and instructions have been passed to the concerned
for their judicious utilization in completing these key projects.
The Minister directed the
officers for regular supervision and monitoring of all major road projects in the
district keeping in view the set time-frame and to avoid cost escalation. “The
administration has to establish close liaison with the public in resolving all
land related and other allied issues hampering smooth construction of roads”
the Minister stated.
Later, the Minister toured lower
Dana areas and dedicated 63 KVA transformer to the people from his CDF. A total
of Rs. 4.91 lakh have been spent on its installation.
Various officers of district
administration and local people accompanied the Minister during the visit.
