CEO Udhampur refutes allegations by teacher

JAMMU, JULY 21: Chief Education Officer, Udhampur has refuted the allegations leveled by a teacher  Government Higher Secondary School Basantgarh Zone Dudu Udhampur against the education department, who also approached to media persons through a press conference.

The CEO said the incident dated 21.06.2017 which took place in the premises of Govt HSS basantgarh zone Dudu Udhampur  was misreported and misquoted in a section of newspaper. He said the allegations by Mr Pritam Singh, teacher GHSS Basantgarh, who had gone to media, hurled  slurry of allegations against the Education Department, which are mere cooked up stories .

          The CEO said following the incident an enquiry committee was constituted comprising Deputy Chief Education Officer Udhampur, Principal Govt HSS Keya, Zonal Education Officer, Ghordi and Headmaster Government High School Pachote.

          “The committee went on spot on 28.6.2017 and recorded the statements of staff, 9th class students and incharge principal Govt HSS Basantgarh. They also deposed the statement of Mr. Pritam Singh and all the proceedings of the committee were carried out when the teacher was present in the school for his statement” the CEO said.

The CEO said that after a detailed appraisal of the facts and circumstances of the case the committee has unanimously held that the teacher seems to be motivated politically by some people and he tried to create the mountain out of a mole hill just to unnecessarily dent the image of the education department.

The said teacher proceeded on protest leave which is neither recognized nor permissible under service conduct rules. Worst more Mr Pritam Singh unauthorizedly proceeded to Jammu and addressed a press conference hurling the wildest allegations against the department and he gave misleading and unjustified reply to the explanation sought by the incharge Principal GHSSS Basantgarh and enquiry committee. He made his reply viral on the social media and tried to defame the department. The said teacher has been appointed on 22.10.2016 and has taken unnecessary cudgels with the students for he has to apologize also.

The said teacher tried to instigate the students and some staff to join unnecessary protest against the department which is highly unbecoming of a duty conscious public servant. It is the report of the enquiry committee, in the better interest of the administration that the teacher was shifted to another school till the completion of the enquiry proceedings.

Once again, the said teacher has gone directly to the media and got published order number along with the date issued by this office of his shifting to another school and tried to conduct the media trial of the department on false and concocted facts.
