GANDERBAL, JULY 21:- District
Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla, today chaired a meeting
to review the functioning and implementation of Integrated Child Development
Services Scheme (ICDS) in the district.
To make
Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHNDs) more effective and public friendly,
the DDC directed the ICDS officers to create massive awareness among the people
about the value of health and nutrition.
The meeting was informed that out of 658 Anganwadi Centers in district
Ganderbal, about 29 zonal centers are being developed as model ones where every
facility would be provided to the beneficiaries. In addition to that 20
Anganwadi centers are constructed in convergence with MGNREGA. The DDC asked
the ICDS officials to get involved in Public Service delivery.
In the
meeting, DDC directed the officers of the PHE department to provide portable
safe drinking water to every Anganwadi Center of the District.
The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer ICDS Dr. Abdul
Aziz, CDPOs and other concerned officers.
