SRINAGAR, 06 JULY: Secretary School Education
Farooq Ahmad Shah today called for expediting the implementation of all the
allied schemes in the Education Department so that their benefits reach the
student community at the earliest.
The Secretary was speaking during a meeting to review of the department.
The meeting was attended by the Director Education, Dr G.N Itoo, Director
RMSA Tufail Matoo, Director SSA Saughat Biswas, Joint Directors, CEO’s, ZEO’s and
Principals.
He emphasizing on strengthening the state education system so as to
build the foundation of a strong society.
The officials were directed to expedite work on all ongoing and new
infrastructure works, and allied projects in a way that the students so not
suffer.
He directed the meeting to ensure regularity and punctuality of teaching
and non teaching staff in educational institutions and asked for providing
quality education, sanitation and drinking facility in schools of the state. He
said that every non-performing staff member would be held accountable and there
should be no compromise with regards to quality of education.
He also directed the officials to undertake drives for increasing
student enrollment in educational institutions especially at primary and middle
level.
The officials were directed to ensure the proper utilization of funds
released under state and centrally sponsored schemes and Mid-day meal schemes.
The Secretary stressed on imparting moral education and to encourage
students towards co- curricular activities.
