DC Kishtwar reviews Independence Day arrangements

KISHTWAR, JULY 22: To discuss and finalise the arrangement for the celebration of upcoming Independence Day, Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Nabi Balwan convened a meeting of all district and sectoral officers here today.

​ The meeting was attended by SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, ACR Mohd Syed Khan, CPO Yasir Balwan, Tehsildar kishtwar Irshad Butt besides officer of PWD (R&B), PDD, PHE, NHPC, KDA, Social welfare, Medical, Education, Agriculture, RDD, Sports, Information, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Food, Municipal, Army, CRPF, Fire and Emergency Services.

  It was decided that the main function shall be held at Parade ground Kishtwar and as per the past practice the programme would start with the playing of Shahnai Vadan at 7am by the information department.

The meeting discussed the seating arrangements, security and barricading of venue, provision for drinking water, electricity, sanitation in and around the venue.

 It was informed that the chief guest will unfurl the national flag and will take salute at the march past parade of the contingents comprising of J&K Police, IR P, CRPF, Home guard, school children and NCC.

  The DDC instructed all the concerned departments to make  advance arrangements  entrusted  to them for   successful conduct of the function. Chief Medical Officer was asked to deploy an ambulance alongwith paramedic staff and life saving drugs at the venue on the day of rehearsal as well as on the Independence Day.

 The PHE department was assigned the task of barricading the venue and making safe drinking water available for the participants and general public, PDD was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply, while PWD (R&B) was entrusted with the job of installing the stage at the venue.

The arrangements regarding security, law and order, Public address system, march past, sanitation and cultural programmes were also discussed.

  The DDC enjoined upon all the officers to work in close coordination and ensure full participation in the event. He also directed all the officer to attend the function.
