
Srinagar, Jul 24 : Two people were arrested along with 13 bags of bukki while bhang cultivation has been destroyed in the Kashmir valley, a police spokesman said here this afternoon. He said continuing its drive against the drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir police have recovered a large quantity of bukki in Budgam and Baramulla today. He said acting on a tip-off, a police party of Khan Sahib intercepted a truck at Nambalhar, Kremshore. During the checking police recovered 13 bags of bukki. Two people who were travelling in the vehicle were taken into custody. They have been identified as Nazir Ahmad Wani and Shakeel Ahmad Bhat both residents of Watrad. Meanwhile, a police party headed by SHO police station Pattan Saleem Mir following a tip-off raid a residential house at Goshbugh and recovered a huge quantity of Fukki. A case has been registered and investigation is on. He said a police team headed by Perweiz Ahmad SDPO Awantipora and Inspector Nazir Ahmad, SHO Police Station Awantipora destroyed a huge Bhang cultivation near Kachkoot, Awantipora.
