Srinagar, Jul 28 : A Jammu and Kashmir Police Constable was shot at and wounded by militants in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, official sources said here today. This is the second attack by militants on off-duty policeman in less than 48 hours in Kulgam district. They told UNI that militants barged into the house of Constable Saleem Yousuf Bhat at Yamrach in Kulgam and fired at him late last night. The Constable was injured in the incident, they said, adding he was immediately taken to a District Hospital Anantnag from where he was referred to a Srinagar hospital. They said health condition of the policeman is stated to be stable. In another incident, militants fired at police station Shopian late last night. The policemen on duty retaliated, forcing the militants to flee from the spot, they said, adding no one was injured in the incident. Earlier yesterday, militants opened fire on an Army patrol party at Mantribugh in south Kashmir district of Shopian though no one was injured in the attack. A constable of Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police, Gowhar Ahmad Tantray, was shot dead by militants in Kulgam on July 26. UNI
