Review progress of work on new facilities
SRINAGAR, JULY 21: Minister for Public Works Naeem Akhtar and Minister
for Education Altaf Bukhari today visited LD Hospital and took stock of pace of
construction of various facilities at the hospital.
The Ministers were given detailed brief of the steps taken for providing
relief to patients. On the construction of new block, Naeem Akhtar directed the
officials to ensure that all modern facilities are included in the building. He
said that the new block should be constructed in such a way that it will
suffice the needs of patients and hospital staff for years to come. He stressed
on the need for future planning while undertaking construction of any new
building at such a vital public health institution.
The Ministers also took stock of steps taken for providing better
facilities for patients and attendants, proper disposal of hospital waste and
other issues. The Ministers also discussed the planning and future vision of the
hospital with the hospital administration. They assured the hospital
administration that government will provide every help in turning the hospital
into one of the best health institutions.
The Ministers also interacted with patients and attendants who apprised
them of various problems faced by them at the hospital. The Ministers gave on
the spot direction to resolve all of their issues and gave directions to
further streamline the functioning of hospital so that minimum inconvenience is
suffered by the people.
The Ministers were accompanied Commissioner Secretary Health and Medical
Education, Dr Pawan Kotwal, MD JKPPC, Dilip Thusso and other officials of
Health and Medical Education, R&B and JKPCC.
