‘He was involved in black marketing helicopter
tickets, Registration Cards for Amarnath Yatra’

JULY 04: On specific compliant received in the office of Deputy Commissioner,
Ganderbal and Labour Commissioner, J&K that some persons were issuing fake
service provider registration cards to the Service providers of Shri Amarnath
Ji Yatra by charging a hefty amount, the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Dr.
Piyush Singla and Labour Commissioner, J&K Dr. Abdul Rashid directed the
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ganderbal Shri Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh to proceed
to Sonamarg to investigate the specific complaint.
The Assistant
Labour Commissioner, Ganderbal along with the J&K police raided local Hotel
and caught hold of people impersonating as Labour Officer of Labour Department,
J&K and issuing Service Provider Registration Cards against a hefty sum of
Rs. 600/- to Rs. 1000/- whereas normal fee for Service Provider Registration
cards is Rs. 50/- only. The other person was found in possession of
incriminating documents and was arrested by the police on the spot. An FIR has
been registered against him in the Police, Station Sonamarg.
In similar complaint, police have also nabbed few persons involved in
black marketing of helicopter tickets on Neelgrath Panjtarni route. The action
by the authorities gives a loud and clear message to the wrong doers to refrain
from such activities.
