SRINAGAR, JULY 5: Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice
Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, called on Governor N.N. Vohra,
Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Prof. Jain briefed the Governor about the progress achieved in the past
months in the academic, administrative and infrastructural development arenas
and the initiatives presently underway.
Governor discussed with Prof. Jain the importance of systematic efforts
being continued to attract the best persons to fill Faculty positions and, side
by side, ensuring that there was no gap whatsoever in the quality of teaching
and sharp focus was maintained on implementation of relevant research projects.
Governor also advised Prof. Jain to expedite work on the establishment
of adequate hostel and indoor sports and extra-curricular facilities and for
students in the highest performance brackets being admitted in the new Academic
Year.
