DDC inspects government offices, educational institutions of Lakhanpur, Keerian Gandyal

KATHUA, AUGUST 17:- District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar conducted surprise check of various government offices of block Keerian Gandyal and educational institutions of Lakhanpur zone here today.

During the tour, the DDC visited Government High School Lakhanpur and reviewed ongoing educational activities. He interacted with the students and inspected attendance of school staff. He called for adopting news reading by school students during morning assembly to update the students with latest important news. He also called for utilizing open areas of schools for plantation.   

He also visited Government Girls Middle School Jandore and inspected attendance register. He laid stress for improving enrollment of students and directed Chief Education Officer to ensure construction of boundary wall and toilet for students.  

Later, the DDC visited Government Primary School Uppar Maha and inspected regularity of staff and enrollment of students. He also inspected ongoing construction works of additional class rooms under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). He also visited Government Middle School Jagatpur and inspected attendance register, called for proper sanitation in schools. He directed Chief Education Officer and headmaster to take up the works like leveling of school ground, boundary wall, drainage and separate toilets for girls at the earliest.

The DDC directed CEO Kathua to ensure that no school shall be left without boundary wall as boundary walls are very important for the safety of students and schools assets. He also directed him to speed up the process to resolve land and path disputes related to different schools of the district.

DDC also visited BDO office Keerian Gandyal and took stock of works undertaken by the Rural Development Department under water conservation, Swachh Bharat Mission, Lanes and Drains, MGNREGA. He also inspected ponds in Jandore and Jagatpur villages, lanes and drains work of which is completed by Rural Development Department under different schemes.

While laying thrust on multiple activities under Swachh Bharat Mission, DDC  directed the RDD officers that every endeavor shall be made to achieve the target of making Open Defecation Free (ODF) Panchayats by 30thAugust 2017.

The DDC also visited PHC Lakhanpur, Sub-Centre Jandore where he inspected health facilities and record maintained by the medical staff.

Meanwhile, DDC visited office of Lakhanpur municipality and reviewed the functioning of the office. Taking strong note of absenteeism, DDC called for taking strict action against erring officials.
