Labour Department organizes awareness camp

DODA AUGUST 17: An awareness cum financial assistance disbursement camp was held today under the chairmanship of MLA, Shakti Raj Parihar, here today.

          The camp, being organized by the Labour Department, was attended by a large number of laborers and an amount of Rs 8,54,500/- was disbursed as financial assistance among 104 registered construction workers under education assistance schemes, launched by Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

          Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said such programmes will generate awareness among the labourers with regard to different social security schemes launched by the government for them. He appreciated the role of the department for working hard for poor labourers despite acute shortage of staff and asked the labour community to come forward for availing benefits of different schemes launched by the department for their welfare.

          ALC Pradyot Gupta highlighted the objectives of welfare schemes and emphasized that the workers should come forward for availing the benefits. He said that the department is committed for providing social security to every labourer under different labour laws. He appealed the labourers to remain vigilant and be aware of agents and middlemen for any official work as the department has not authorized any private agency to deal on its behalf.
