RAJOURI, AUGUST 05: Administration
convened a public meeting at Jawahar Nagar to discuss and finalize various
developmental works, civic amenities and projects for overall improvement of
infrastructure and public friendly service delivery.
MLC Mr Vibodh Gupta laid the foundation stone of a community hall to be
constructed at Jawahar Nagar in convergence of CDF and other schemes which was
a long pending demand. He asked the executing agency to complete the project in
a time-bound manner and ensuring quality of work.
District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary while
addressing the gathering informed that old DIET building is being renovated for
accommodation of 4-5 Govt offices which are presently functioning from hired
premises. He also informed that Jawahar Nagar park is being developed in
current year by Tourism Development Authority and Municipal Committee. District
administration is also coming with plan for parking , sports ground and health
centre in Jawahar nagar in view of emerging demands of developing habitations.
Prominent speakers including Dinesh Sharma, Bharat Sharma, Rajinder
Gupta and other highlighted a number of demands and requested for development
of civic amenities in view of traffic congestion. They asked the District
Administration for exploring possibility of widening of alternative road which
is being considered.
MLC Vibodh Gupta highlighted a number of initiatives taken by State
Government and District Administration for development of tourism, providing
amenities, meeting infrastructural demands and other measures for benefit of
people which are being executed. He appreciated the district administration for
measures being taken for providing community paces, parking, playground and
health facilities. Officers from REW and Rural Development Department also
attended the meeting.
The team of officers also inspected the DIET complex being renovated,
alternative JN road and other spaces identified for infrastructural
development. Public of the area highlighted demands and put forth suggestions for
development.
