Agartala, Aug 9 : Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu arrived here today to address a rally of BJP Janajati (tribal) Morcha as part of celebration of World Indigenous Day. The BJP state committee termed the rally as beginning of the movement for communist free Tripura as the way Gandhiji had launched quit India movement against British on the day in 1942. Thousands of tribal people arrived in Agartala since morning to attend the rally, which is scheduled in the afternoon. Before attending the gathering in the city, they would hold rally across the streets protesting against the sufferings of tribal during left front rule in past 24 years. The BJP leaders however, stated that CPI(M) party did not do anything for the tribals Tripura, as a result when left front government claiming average per capita income of Tripura people is Rs 55,000 thousands of tribal women living in shifting cultivation in the hills. “The tribal villages were not provided with government support for income generation, hospitals are running without doctors and paramedical staff, schools are running without teachers, the people are not getting purified potable water and assured square meal. Tribal mothers are selling out children out of poverty and CPI(M) leaders are doing luxury,” alleged chief of BJP Janajati Morcha Jishnu Debbarma. He however, pointed out that CPI(M) had mobilised innocent tribal youths in insurgency during 80’s and 90’s. They instigated tribals against non-tribal in communal line and disturbed harmony, which still CPI(M) is doing. UNI
