KATHUA, AUGUST 30: Deputy
Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar today convened a meeting of senior officers to
discuss the arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha.
DC directed the concerned departments to properly regulate supply of
food grains, power and drinking water, besides launching cleanliness drive
around Mosques and Eidgahs.
During the meeting he also discussed arrangements for security, traffic
regulation and deployment of fire tenders at identified places. He further
asked the concerned functionaries to ensure that people may not face any
inconvenience on account of shortage of basic amenities during the festival.
The meeting decided to deploy adequate number of police and traffic
personnel to ensure security around the Mosques and better traffic management
to avoid any inconvenience to the devotees. Executive Engineers of PDD and PHE
were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply.
DC also
directed to constitute a committee to conduct intensive market inspection to
keep a watch on overcharging by traders and quality of food stuff being sold
and also to ensure that the rate lists are displayed properly. BDOs and
Tehsildars were directed to seize plastic bags below 50 microns.
The traffic police was asked to strictly deal with wrong parkings around
the mosques. AD CAPD was directed to stock adequate ration in remote areas like
Bani to avoid inconvenience during Eid festival and asked the officers to take
strict action against black marketers, hoarders and erring shopkeepers as per
the law.
ADC, ACD, PO ICDS, GM DIC, CEO MC Kathua and other district officials
were present in the meeting.
