KULGAM, AUGUST 25: To ensure that proper arrangements are in place for celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting of District Officers here today.
ADDC, ACR, Ex- Ens of PDD, PHE, CMO, Chief Animal/Sheep Husbandry Officer, Tehsildars, Deputy Director CA&FCS and Food Safety Officer, Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Kulgam/Devsar/Frisal, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
          The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and kerosene with certified rates, cleanliness around Masjids, streets and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repairs and renovation of roads were discussed threadbare in the meeting.
          Deputy Commissioner instructed Deputy Director CA&FCS to ensure the availability and distribution of essential commodities well before Eid. He was also instructed to ensure that essential items are available at fair rates. Chief Medical Officer was instructed to keep ambulance services in a state of readiness and ensure availability of doctors and paramedical staff.
          Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure availability of poultry birds on concessional rates throughout the District. Besides, he was instructed to ensure availability of adequate stock of milk and milk products.
          For facilitating the public, District Sheep Husbandry Officer was instructed to ensure that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals are available at three identified spots including truck terminal Chawalgam, Sports Stadium and Laroo Adda.

          The meeting was informed that use of fire crackers during the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha have been banned in the district and failing to abide by these instructions will invite action under law.
