POONCH, AUGUST 22:
Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahamad Zargar today conducted an extensive tour of various areas of Arai village in Mandi tehsil to asses and redresses the problems of people living in far flung and remote areas.

While interacting with locals at Arai, DC said that the administration is committed to providing good governance to the people and soon a mechanism will be set up for prompt redressal of the issues of the aggrieved people.

He said that the administration would formulate policies to cater to more development needs especially for far flung backward regions in terms of improving road connectivity, augmenting water supply and health care facilities in these areas.

Earlier, in a public meeting at Arai Haveli, detailed deliberations on many issues related to eradication of preventable diseases, augmentation of school infrastructure, early start of work on major Mandi to Arai road which has been damaged, livestock health care and ration supply.

The DC asked the concerned departments to work out a timeline for early redressal of the issues raised by the people. He assured the people that a medical team will be dispatched twice in a month to the far off regions to mitigate people’s sufferings.

Tariq Zargar assured the gathering that work on damaged Mandi- Arai road would be started soon & work on foot bridge connecting three panchyats would be taken up with cost of 14 lakh under 14 F.C by RDD department.

He also visited the site of High School Arai to take stock of construction works & directed the executive agency to expedite the works for their time bound completion.

He emphasized the need of close coordination between the administration and the people for effective implementation of various welfare and development programmes, which is pre- requisite for growth and progress of an area.
