KUPWARA, AUGUST 25: District
Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today convened a
meeting of all district and sectoral officers to discuss and review the
arrangements being put in place for smooth celebrations of upcoming
Eid-ul-Azha.
During the meeting, the DDC directed the officers to ensure
uninterrupted supply of power and water, proper arrangements for transport, and
earlier distribution of ration.
The Municipal authorities were directed to launch a cleanness drive in
the town and at Eidgah and make functional all the street lights so that people
do not face inconvenience during the auspicious festival.
DDC also directed market checking squads for strict implementation of
approved market rates of chicken, mutton, bakery and other necessary items. Whereas the
Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments were asked to identify the spots for
sale of sacrificial animals, poultry birds.
The Chief Medical Officer was asked to keep ambulance and medical staff
available on the day to meet any exigency.
The meeting was informed that ration and LPG is sufficiently available
across the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, officers of
Revenue, Health, PDD, PHE, PWD, FCS&CA, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry,
Traffic, Police, Information, Municipality, Drug and Food Safety, LMD and CPC.
