New Delhi, Aug 31: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, who is playing a
badass in Milan Luthria's next 'Baadshaho' says that he loves playing such
murky roles.
Talking to UNI, Ajay Devgn who was in the town, along with the co-stars Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta, to promote his upcoming Indian period heist action thriller film said,"I love playing grey character because we all are grey in our everyday life.
" Talking about his character in the film, which is scheduled for release on September 1, Ajay said, ' Bhawani is a nice, but complicated character with lot of layers.
Its a grey character.
' The actor said 'Baadshaho' is not an action film but a drama.
"There are two-three action sequences in the film and it was demand of the story.
Otherwise its a relationship drama," he said.
Asked about his expectations from the film and whether box office number adds pressure on him, the 'Singham' actor said,"there is a responsibility that if you have made a film it should cover its costs and the producers who are making the film should not go into losses.
So that pressure is always there.
On our part, we are working with passion and want audience to like our work.
I feel that if the audience likes the film then the collection will happen.
' Asked as to what does he feel when he looks back to the time when he was told that he won't be able to make big in the industry due to his unconventional looks, Ajay said,"I never bothered.
It didn't matter to me.
I didn't face that problem because before "Phool aur Kaante" no one wrote much about me and after the successful release of that movie, they accepted it.
' Talking about his future projects, Ajay said his next film 'Raid' will start from the next month.
"Raid is based on a true incident of an income tax officer in 70s decade.
I am doing it for its brilliant story and not the fact that it is a period film," he said.
Talking about 'Battle of Saragarhi', Ajay said work is in progress but it was too early to talk about the project.
But at the same time, he said the subject of the movie was something which needed to be told.
Baadshaho' is a multi-starrer flick which features Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal and Sanjai Mishra in pivotal roles.
The film is set against the backdrop of the 1975 Emergency.
The story shows how princess Gitanjali (Ileana D'Cruz) decides to fight for her wealth which is being returned to the government.
She seeks help of Bhawani (Ajay Devgn), a gangster.
The movie is slated to release tomorrow. UNI
