Aug 24: Oil major Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is planning to set up a
common user facility in Sehore district near the Madhya Pradesh capital with an
estimated investment of Rs 250 crore. “The company is searching for land,
approximately 200 acre for establishing a POL (petroleum, oil and lubricants)
common user facility in Sehore,” Executive Director (Corporate Communications)
Subodh Dakwale told media here. “Establishing the facility would be an
important step in delivering on our commitments for ensuring smoother and
faster availability of petroleum products in the region. The project’s
implementation will commence once land is identified and an environmental
impact assessment (EIA) is made,” he said. However, he did not provide a time
frame for the project observing that a deadline could be arrived at only
receiving environmental clearance. Besides, hydrocarbon infrastructure with a
capital infrastructure of Rs 347.2 cr was also being done keeping in mind
increasing demand of POL products. Mr Dakwale said that LPG coverage increased
by 17 per cent in Madhya Pradesh from April 1, 2016 to August 1, 2017.
Corresponding figure for Chhattisgarh was 23.6 per cent. He said that a total
of 20.62 lakh new domestic LPG connections were issued in 2016-17 in Madhya
Pradesh by IOC, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum
