Ishapore Rifle Factory develop sniper rifle that can target object

Kolkata, Aug 30: Ishapore Rifle Factory has launched a modern sniper rifle, that can pinpoint a target from 800 mt with telescope, the latest weapon of its arsenal. The 7.62 mm sniper rifle cosst Rs 2.5 lakh and is likely to be useful for the security forces to combat terror attacks. The weapon, launched formally at a programme yesterday in front of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, weighs about 7 kilos and has the capacity to target an object from 800 mt with telescope, Ishapore Rifle Factory general manager Ratneswar Verma said.
