JAMMU, AUGUST 25 - Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma
today directed the officers to make concerted efforts for effective
implementation of centrally sponsored schemes so that their benefit reaches the
grassroots level.
The MP issued these directions while chairing District Development
Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Jammu.
Speaker, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Member Parliament,
Shamsher Singh Manhas, MLA Jammu (West), Sat Sharma, MLA Marh, Sukhnandan
Choudhary, MLA Chhamb Dr. Krishan Lal Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Kumar
Rajeev Ranjan, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, M Raju, ADDC, Anuradha
Gupta, senior officers of various departments and nominated members of the
committee participated in the meeting.
MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma enquired about the progress of various
centrally sponsored schemes in Jammu including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, National
Social Assistance Programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission
(SBM), National Rural Drinking Water Programme, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai
Yojana, Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme, Deen Dayal Upadhyay
Gram Jyoti Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan
(SSA), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and Integrated Child Development Scheme.
While giving details about the physical and financial achievements registered
under centrally sponsored schemes, the Deputy Commissioner informed that under
MGNREGA, 8054 works were completed after incurring an expenditure of Rs. 61.46
crore out of the approved budget of Rs. 70.34 crore.
He further informed that under SBM, 2554 IHHL units have been
constructed in Jammu. Under NRDWP, 339 schemes are fully functional while as
124 schemes are partially functional in Jammu, he added.
It was informed in the meeting that 19,910 LPG connections have been
distributed in Jammu under PMUY. The meeting also reviewed the status of DPR
for up gradation of four-laning of Jammu-Akhnoor road (NH-144A) and ring road
from Raya Morh to Nagrota Bypass.
In the meeting, Chief Education Officer informed that 490 school
buildings were constructed under SSA while as 37 buildings were constructed
under RMSA.
The MP also enquired about the status of construction of bunkers in
border areas and instructed the officers to check water level before starting
construction of bunkers in any area.
In the meeting, the legislators raised various issues related to power
supply, water supply, road connectivity, construction of ponds among others.
While addressing the meeting, the chairman said that works being
undertaken under various schemes should be completed in a stipulated time frame
and stress should be laid on quality work.
He further said that everyone should realize his responsibility towards
the society and work for the welfare and upliftment of the common masses.
