Srinagar, Aug 28 :  Life remained crippled in parts of south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where three foreign militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and eight security force personnel were killed in 18-hour-long encounter which ensued after a fidayeen attack on District Police Line (DPL) on August 26. Official sources said that there were no restrictions in any parts of Pulwama district though security forces remained deployed in strength to maintain law and order. However, train service between Srinagar-to Banihal in Jammu region, via south Kashmir, was not affected. Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads in parts of the district, including main town Pulwama, Kakpora, Murran, Tahab and Gongoo. Work in government offices and banks was also affected in these villages. Educational institutions were also closed. Meanwhile, mobile internet service of all cellular companies, including Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), remained suspended since August 26 in the district as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of any rumours.
