Man arrested for robbing foreign tourists in Srinagar

Srinagar, Aug 19 : Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a man for robbing foreign tourists and recovered stolen items in this summer capital. 
A police spokesperson here this evening said that Srinagar Police solved a theft case within eight hours. 
He said Bangladeshi tourists in a written complaint informed that unknown persons broke in their room at Hotel Hamza in Buchwara area of Dalgate in Srinagar and robbed them. 
He said a case was registered and investigation was taken up. 
During the course of investigation, he said several suspects were rounded up using human and technical intelligence and one of them, identified as Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, confessed to his involvement in the theft. 
He said on his disclosure, stolen cash of Rs 8800 Indian currency and 230 Bangladeshi Taka, Canon DSR, Xiomi Note 4 were recovered from his possession. 
“Further investigation into the matter is going on,” he added. UNI
