Market checking conducted at Baramulla

          BARAMULLA, AUGUST 30: In view of forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla accompanied by SSP and officers from Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Revenue, Municipal council, Metrology department today conducted the marketing checking at various locations at Baramulla town including main market, fish market, bus adda. The checking was aimed at ensuring the quality and price control and to keep vigil on erring traders. 

          During the inspection the checking team realized fine on various shopkeepers violating the legal regulations. The team also destroyed contaminated vegetables and spices and also realized fine from shopkeepers for not displaying rate list at their shops.

          On the occasion the DC said that several committees have already been constituted at Tehsil levels so that such drives can also be launched at lower levels. He stressed upon intensifying the drive and impressed upon the officers for ensuring uninterrupted water and power supply during these holy days. Meanwhile the DC impressed upon authorities to ensure hassle free movement of commuters by acting against street encroachers. Moreover, the DC urged upon the people to avoid the use of polythene so that the pollution can be minimized.
