SRINGAR, AUGUST 25- Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli, today directed the engineering wing of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing department to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing Veterinary Hospital buildings and complete them within the stipulated time.
These remarks were made by the Minister in a meeting convened to discuss
and review the pace of progress of funds allocation released under “Establishment
and Strengthening of Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries” (ESVHD) in
the State of Jammu and Kashmir here.
It was given out that the Centre Government has sanctioned project
report for construction of 229 buildings (70 hospital and 159 veterinary
dispensaries) at a cost of Rs. 28.87 crore under ESVHD with central share of Rs
21.65 crore (75%) in the year 2011-12 at a unit cost of Rs. 14.90 lakh for
hospital and Rs. 11.60 lakh for dispensaries.
Furthermore, it was informed that so for 135 buildings were taken up for
construction against the central share of Rs. 12.50 crore against which 10.28
crore stands utilized. The unspent balance of Rs. 2.22 crore as per decision
will be placed at the disposal of HoDs shortly for utilization during 2017-18.
Till date 87 buildings stands completed.
Among others, the Commissioner Secretary, Animal & Sheep Husbandry
R. K. Bhagat, Directors of Animal and Sheep Husbandries Departments Kashmir and
Jammu, Director Horticulture, Planning and Marketing and other Officers were
present in the meeting.
