Mysuru, Aug 23: The Dakshina Kannada police, investigating into the murder of RSS worker Sharat Madiwala at Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada District, have arrested the prime accused Sheriff here. Police said that Sheriff, a native of Mangaluru, was absconding after the murder. With his arrest the number of arrest made in the case has risen to nine. The DK Police, with the help of the city’s police picked up Sheriff near Sathagalli bus depot. Sharat was brutally assaulted by a group of miscreants on July 4; he succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Mangalore on July 7. The DK police team, who are said to have camped in the city for the past three days, were closely monitoring the movement of Sheriff by tracking mobile tower location with the help of local police. The police are said to have swooped on him when he was standing near the Sathagalli bus stand. Sharif was taken to Mangaluru under tight security yesterday.
