More than 200 saplings planted by DDC, DFO SF

REASI, AUGUST 30: The Social Forestry, Division Reasi today carried out a plantation drive in the premises of Government Degree College Reasi.
District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar was the Chief guest on the occasion.
While holding an interactive session with the students of the college, the DDC  highlighted the importance of forests in sustainable development and exhorted upon the students to show their active participation in various plantation drives.
Stressing on various roles played by forests in maintaining life on earth, the Chief Guest urged the students to protect the natural assets and asked them to create awareness among the common masses about the same.
More than 200 saplings of medicinal, ornamental and other plants were planted in the college premises by DDC, DFO SF, staff of Social Forestry, faculty and students of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry Dr. Rajan Singh briefed the teaching faculty and the students about the various plantation drives launched by the department and asked the students to ensure proper care of the saplings planted by them.

 Earlier, Principal GDC, Dr. Hemla Aggarwal applauded the role of DDC and DFO ,Social Forestry Department for undertaking such a drive at Degree College, Reasi.
