Sasaram, Aug 2 : Train services on New Delhi-Howrah grand chord line were completely paralysed when a goods train derailed near Dhanecha station on Gaya-Mughalsarai section of East Central railway today. Railway police said here that 16 coal-laden rakes of the goods train jumped off tracks when it was running between Dhanecha and Kamgha stations in Rohtas district. Overhead high voltage electric wire was snapped and electric poles on the sides of railway tracks broke due to the derailment. Around 300 metre railway track was also damaged in the mishap. The reason behind derailment was not immediately known. Several mail, express and passenger trains were stranded at various places. Some long distance trains had been diverted through main line via Patna. Some trains were terminated at Gaya railway station on the grand chord line. Senior railway engineers along with other employees reached the spot to remove debris from tracks. It will take nearly 4 to 5 hours before train services on Gaya-Mughalsarai could be restored, sources added. UNI
