Srinagar, Sep 29: Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband from them on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in south Kashmir.
         A police spokesperson here this evening said that following specific information about transportation of drugs, a vehicle was intercepted near Zig Jawahar Tunnel in Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir valley.
         He said during search, 15 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle.
         “Two people onboard the vehicle, identified as Jarnal Singh son of Prakesh Singh and Darshad Singh son of Nishaster Singh, residents of Ludhiana, were immediately taken into custody,” he said.
         Police have registered a case and initiated investigation to nab people involved in drug trafficking, he added. UNI
