Officials said that restrictions under Section 144 CrPC have been imposed in parts of Sopore, about 55 km from here, as a precautionary measure.
All roads leading to Batpora, the native village of Najar, who was killed when he infiltrated into this side in Boniyar area of Uri on September 26, and adjoining areas were closed with barbed wires to prevent anyone from going there.
Additional security forces and state police personnel have been deployed around the village to prevent any law and order problem.
Meanwhile, shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads for the third successive day today in restriction free areas in Sopore due to a strike against the killing of the top militant commander.
However, situation elsewhere in the north Kashmir was normal. UNI
