26: On the directions of Governor N.N. Vohra, Chairman, Shri Amarnathji
Shrine Board (SASB), Shri Bhupinder Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer
along with Shri R.K. Pandita, General Manager (Works) and Shri Pankaj Kumar
Anand, Dy. Chief Executive Officer SASB, undertook an extensive tour of
Neelgrath, Baltal, Sangam, Panjtarni and Holy Cave to take stock of various
ongoing works of different departments and to particularly check
cleanliness in and around the different Yatra Camps.
On return from tour
Additional CEO has informed Chairman that all the Yatra camps on the aforesaid
route have been properly cleaned with the joint efforts of Shri Amarnathji
Shrine Board, District Administration of Ganderbal and the Chief Executive
Officers of Pahalgam and Sonamarg Development Authority.
Additional CEO
reported that no garbage / waste was found along the track from Baltal to Holy
Cave and in the Yatra Camps of Neelgrath, Baltal, Sangam, Panjtarni and Holy
Cave. During Yatra 2017, plastic bottles from all the Yatra camps and enroute
Baltal to Holy Cave as well as Chandanwari to Holy Cave were collected and
crushed in the shredding machines installed at Nunwan and Baltal base camps by
SASB. It was also informed that necessary process for the up-gradation of the
existing Sewage Treatment Plants at Nunwan and Baltal has also been initiated.
Governor directed Additional CEO to undertake an urgent tour of Nunwan
–Chandanwari –Sheshnag Camps to particularly recheck cleanliness and sanitation
in all Yatra Camps and along the tracks. He further directed him to coordinate
with the concerned departments for ensuring timely implementation of the
decisions taken in the Post Yatra Review meeting 2017.
