New Delhi, Sept 29: India on Friday charged Pakistan with spreading
falsehood on talks between Islamabad and Kabul about 'swapping' Indian national
Kulbhushan Jadhav for a terrorist who carried out the horrific 2014 Peshawar
school attack and is now jailed in Afghanistan.
"Yeh jhoot ki kari mein ek aur ijafa (It seems that this is one more
addition to the long list of imaginary lies and stories that have been created
by Pakistani establishment)," Ministry of External Affairs spokesman
Raveesh Kumar told reporters here.
Reacting to the media reports which quotes Foreign Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif claiming that such a discussion had taken place, Mr Kumar said, even the Afghanistan authorities have denied about any such talks.
Stating this he said even at the UNGA, the Pakistani efforts to make use of falsehood stood exposed.
To a question on whether would agree to the proposal of 'such swap', the MEA spokesman said, "I have already rejected the proposal because we do not even know who spoke to whom on what...there is already a denial on the very talk also".
The strong rebuttal to
Pakistan from Indian government comes close on the heels of Foreign Minister
Khwaja Muhammad Asif stating in New York at a function that: "The
terrorist who killed children in APS [Army Public School] in Peshawar is in
Afghan custody. The National Security Adviser [NSA] told me that we can
exchange that terrorist with the terrorist you have, which is Kulbhushan Jadhav". Reacting to the media reports which quotes Foreign Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif claiming that such a discussion had taken place, Mr Kumar said, even the Afghanistan authorities have denied about any such talks.

Haneef Atmar, the Afghanistan National Security Advisor, also issued a statement asserting: "There was no mention or reference of India or an Indian citizen" in the meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister and an Afghan delegation at the UN Headquarter in New York.
The Afghan authorities also maintained that records of such high-level diplomatic meetings should be reported accurately - and "facts are not misconstrued".
Meanwhile, talking about the visit of the Afghan Chief Executive Dr Abdullah Abdullah to India, the MEA spokesman said, during his stay in the national capital, the visiting dignitary has already held key discussions with President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
"Both sides positively assessed the recent developments in bilateral relations, including the outcomes of the recently concluded meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council on 11 September that was co-chaired by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries," he said.
India also invited Afghanistan to participate in the International Solar Alliance Summit meeting being held in India in December 2017 and also to the World Food Processing Show being held in November, he said. UNI
