Property worth lakhs of rupees destroyed in Ganderbal fire

Srinagar, Sep 28: Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed in a devastating fire incident in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said here this evening.
         They told UNI that fire broke out in the top floor of two-storey Aziz shopping complex at Duderhama in Ganderbal early this morning.
         Fire tenders from different parts of Ganderbal and adjoining districts were rushed to douse off the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
         However, the fire engulfed the top floor of three-storey Shah Hamdan complex, another nearby shopping complex.
         They said it took firefighters around six hours to douse off the fire.
         “The top floors of both the shopping complexes, which were used as godowns by many shopkeepers, were completely damaged,” they said.
         The cause of the fire was not immediately known, they said, adding no one was injured in the incident. UNI
